Miss J, Some Release Therapy & Future Sex Sounds aka Music From These People Isn't What It Used To Be

Hmm, I don't know if music is so good these days. I have listened to each of these cds and I have found that they are lacking. Janet's 20 Y.O. is tolerable but it smells of Danita Jo production. I do like Enjoy & Daybreak, but for the most part as some one put it on Itunes - "all of the songs besides So Excited, have the same hippity-poppity-lockity-clappity beats." I have to agree. I also can listen to the current single, Call On Me, but I am not impressed with So Excited, but I still love Janet. I hope that the album does well - until then I'll stick with Control & Velvet Rope.

Now onto Ludacris' release - I personally am a big fan of Ludacris. I do not have the Incognegro album that he sold out of his trunk but I do have the others and personally, Release Therapy is sub-par compared to the last three efforts. Ludacris' flow is unbeatable but the beats aren't that good in my opinion compared to Pimpin All Over The World, Screwed Up, or Coming To America. I hear people are enjoying Money Maker but I'm not. Ludacris does get my vote on Tell It Like It Is & Grew Up A Screw Up but again I am sticking with the former releases to listen to. I heard Grew Up is the next single - I hope the video will be good.

As for Justin's release....there is a certain aura that I feel when I listen to it. It resembles some kind of 80's dance vibes mixed with electronica over Timbaland beats. I can say that My Love & SexyBack are the only decent songs on the cd. Perhaps I am hearing something that isn't quite there but this isn't like Justified, so is it true that the second album release from a solo artist has to be good because someone lied to JT because it's not so good. I guess people bought it - it isn't worth it. Just listen to the singles. You'll be fine if you do.

Osama Isn't Dead & Other Ramblings

1) Osama Bin Laden? Dead? - Speculation of the Osama deceased rumors is spreading. I think though, if he really were gone, there would be more news coverage about it. Could it be that they are putting that out there so people will be pro-Republican this year since it is an election year. I wonder?

2) Whitney & Bobby Calling It Quits - Whitney say no more Bobby. The king of Rocks & Booze (quoted from Adele Givens) and the "Crack Is Whack" lady have finally called it quits. I'm glad for Whitney. Homegirl needs to get back on her feet. The music world misses her singing. No singer out there is a match for Whitney. I just hope the crack habit hasn't choked the voice out of her. There are those who say once a diva, always a diva, but we'll c. I hope she returns bigger and better than ever. The music world says divas can always come back.

3) Shoutout To Those Posting Throwback Videos On YouTube - I do not have the luxury of VH1 Soul, working with basic cable and movie channels. I have been watching throwbacks on YouTube and they've brought back a lot of memories. That was when music was good. The songs haven't lost their touch. Especially Billy Lawrence's Happiness (I used to have a crush on her, and even now she still looks good) and Crucial Conflict's Hay (I used to request those on The Box). I had to pull out some old songs and listen to them like Candy Rain (Soul 4 Real), I Miss U (Aaron Hall), How We Comin (RBL Posse), and Perfect Match (Cella Dwellas, which is posted already).

I Just Have To Say It

1) Christianity Haters - I have found that the more you do to bring yourself up to another level, the more haters spring out of the woodworks or people begin to show themselves. I think that people often times haven't gotten up the nerve to move their own selves up to another level which is why there is so much hating. We have Rosie O'Donnell making Christianity comments, we've got religious police launching missiles and darts at preachers who God has made prosperous. What on Earth? Our world system is designed to bring us down - and to destroy us and yet no one speaks of that. Families are in debt and there are so many homeless people. The rich keep getting richer and the poor, just keep getting poorer. The world makes room for pornography, homosexuality, dogmas and creeds, gangs, bestiality, bondage, S&M, alcohol, drugs, gambling and other forms of rubbish and yet, people who have good intentions and are doing good things come under attack. The world is trying to squeeze the church out of the world. We want to take God off of our money, the pledge is null & void in schools. I keep pondering at how many people hate Christianity so much. I mean people in my own family have their own animosity about what God has done to them and to the world, but I invite everyone to read the book of Genesis and see how Adam yielded to the devil. That's another story for another day. I just can't understand why God and Jesus spark so much controversy in a country that calls itself Christian and by people who have trouble believing Jesus died on the cross. There is so much Jesus hate for a society that is so "Jesus loving."

2) Words - I was reading my friend, Reka's blog, and one of her posts talked about how important words are. I began to think just how important words are. I mean just because we think, does that mean we have to say it. There are many of those out there who say that our words shape our environment and our thinking and thus our actions. I never thought about it that way but that's interesting because that means we control what happens to us.

3) New Music - People aren't feeling Justin's new cd. I haven't heard it but I do know that it is not Nsync-ish. I do not know how futuristic the sounds are, but My Love & SexyBack are tight songs. I have always liked the Black Eyed Peas, I wonder though, how well Fergie's new cd will do. I've heard London Bridge, which I like, and I've also heard Glamorous, which has a good beat and Ludacris is once again rapping at his best on the track. I can say that hip hop music has gotten significantly worse. We've got Young Joc's Eenie Meanie (trust me, I know the name of the song, just thought that one sounds better), and some others out there that are not worth writing about. I think Ludacris and TI are about the best out there right now. JZ is comin back (what a surprise). Didn't he say that when he retired? The jigga man pullin some Too Short stuff.

4) Just How Many Sequels? - Why did they make a Grudge 2 and a Saw III? The Grudge was tasteless dung that was more up on the lines of Cabin Fever. So what now is the rage girl gonna do more than scream at people and they die. What did they think of this time: barking, meowing, howling <<<----well that one probably wouldn't be a good idea considering that would make her a wolfwoman. Of course, I don't think Hollywood has made many films with a wolfwoman. Is Saw III necessary? How many sequels can you do? This time Amanda is in charge again, trapping more victims and playing a game of death.

It's Been Awhile

I haven't written anything in awhile. I just haven't been all that interested in posting posts that only a few of you read. I have had (that doesn't sound good, but I'll leave it there for the time being) a few things on my mind lately.

1) Nip/Tuck Season 4 - The show just continues to get more and more disturbing. After last season's Carver storyline and the Matt storyline with the transexual, I thought that would have been enough, but nope. Now they've got Sanaa Lathan playing a bi-sexual role and even more bizarre storylines starting.

2) 9-11 Revisited - President Bush is continuing to con America into believing that this is a war on terrorism. I am not too convinced about the near future where that is concerned. I was on my way back to California a week ago and I wasn't able to take a medium soft drink on the plane due to FAA regulations. How long is this going to go on? I think my plans to move to Canada need to be reconsidered, ya think?

3) Whitney & Bobby - Whitney filed for divorce. Perhaps someone in the Houston family will get her some rehab. I feel bad for her, her voice and her family. That crack has her looking like a zombie out of Night of the Living Dead nowadays (that's kind of harsh I know, but true).

4) Big Brother All Stars - Well, they crowned the winner. I finally was able to watch reality tv since that is what is on most of the time with the exception of the new CW and CBS' crime shows. Hopefully, the new season of OC will be worth my viewing effort, otherwise I may depart from that medium altogether.

Last to play....
