Workplace Romances

This girl who sits next to me at work was talking about workplace romances and how they never work because one or the other always ends up getting jealous or becoming insecure about the relationship. I informed her that that is quite true. But there are so many people who have workplace romances that turn out to be the best thing in their lives. Happiness wherever one finds it is always a blessing. That sounds like something that'd be written in a Hallmark card (well, maybe an American Greeting card, instead).

But she had a point. If I wanted to have a relationship on the job, I don't know if I could handle my girl getting all gooey and chummy with another man. I mean I don't get jealous easily, but some dude is always trying to smoove over your woman (yes, I said smoove). But the arrow points both ways. This is not a one way street. So perhaps, what the girl said was correct. Workplace romances are not worth it. The emotional and psychological consequences must be detrimental. But they are probably fun too.
